This new render of the HTC Ville (codename) certainly shows off the thin design that HTC are working on. The Ville is expected to be HTC’s thinnest phone to date at below 8mm thick — in comparison to 8.5mm on the Samsung Galaxy S II, 8.9mm on the Galaxy Nexus, and 9.3mm on the iPhone 4S. Under the hood of the HTC Ville is rumoured to be a 1.5GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon CPU from Qualcomm, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display at qHD (960×540) resolution, a 1080p video recording 8MP camera, along with HTC’s Sense UI 4.0 and Beats Audio.
The addition of capacitive buttons makes sense if the screen resolution is qHD and the device should be running Ice Cream Sandwich because it means there will be no screen real-estate lost with on-screen buttons.
PocketNow are suggesting a shipping date in April 2012 after an announcement by HTC at Mobile World Congress in the middle of February, at which point the Ville certainly won’t be high-end in comparison to the competition.
4 month wait? no thanks…..
looks like every htc phone
Pretty cool, but we’ll be seeing quad cores and 720p displays just around the corner.
This might just be too little too late.
