Google did it when they released the Nexus 7 and it seems Samsung is supplying digital user guides, at least for a few of their most popular models. If you’re in the market for or have purchased a Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 10.1 or maybe even a Galaxy Note II recently then Samsung started offering user guides for all 3 devices on the Google Play Store at the end of last month.

The descriptions on the Play Store advise that the apps are best viewed on the devices they are about however they do show as available to install to all of my devices including the Telstra Uno which has only a 2.8″ screen. All three user guides have what you would expect from a user manual and add in video tutorials as well. Available for Android devices from 2.2 upwards the apps range in size from 35-40MB so a connection to Wi-Fi is recommended if you don’t have a lot of data included with your plan.

Head over to the Google Play Store and check out all three user guides and see what you think, should all companies do something along these lines?

The User Guide for the Note II is beautifully done.
