Looks like Hurricane Sandy has caused Google to play it safe. On Friday, the Governor of New York declared a state of emergency due to the incoming hurricane and press who were invited to their event that was scheduled to take place in New York on the 29th of October have been sent the following :
We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.
At this stage there are no rumours as to when or where the next event will be scheduled for but can I just say that Australia would make a lovely place to have such an announcement. Stay tuned as soon as we hear any new information we’ll let you know.
