Telstra is gearing up for Christmas and is beefing up its 4G product offerings to include the Telstra Frontier 4G and Telstra EasyTouch 4G. The addition of these two products increases Telstras range of LTE enabled products to 19 with the EasyTouch 4G aimed at first time Smartphone owners while the Telstra Frontier 4G is Australias first 4G enabled smartphone aimed at the pre-paid market.
The Easy Touch 4G is available in-store from today and is aimed at the first time smartphone owner and includes on-screen guides and four specially designed widgets which link to the most commonly used phone features. The Easy Touch 4G is Blue Tick compliant which means it is recommended by Telstra for use in rural and regional handheld mobile coverage areas and the 4G component gives owners options when in an area covered by 4G.
The Easy Touch 4G includes a 4.3″ screen and 8MP camera but little else is known about the handset at this stage. It is available right now for $0 on a $60 Every Day Connect Plan over 24 months with minimum cost of $1,440 or you can purchase it outright for $456.
The other option being released on the 27th of November for $299 is the Telstra Frontier 4G which is the first 4G enabled pre-paid bundled phone. With a 4″ Screen the phone is running a 1.5GHz CPU and comes with a 5MP camera. The Frontier is also Blue Tick compliant so again, usage in rural and regional areas should present no issues. The Frontier is also HD-Voice compatible for use when talking with other people on the Telstra network who also have HD-Voice enabled phones.
Not forgetting their NextG customers they’re also introduced a new 3G USB+Wi-Fi dongle which will offer a Wi-Fi connection to up to 5 devices. The dongle is Mac/Windows compatible with auto-install enabled to get started quickly. Available from today the dongle is priced at $59 with 2GB of included data.
A number of decent options available just in time for Christmas and we look forward to getting our hands on these new devices to test them out. I certainly look forward to actually seeing more specs at this time I’ve listed all that are available so we’ll wait to hear back from Telstra.
