It looks as though TCL Communication (The manufacturer behind the Alcatel brand) is out to surprise this year at CES, releasing the worlds slimmest smartphone. The Alcatel ONE TOUCH Idol Ultra is only 6.45mm thin and holds a 4.7″ HD AMOLED Display, 1.2Ghz Dual Core CPU, 8MP rear camera which is capable of recording video in 1080p, and as we should see from all Android phones and tablets on show at CES 2013, it’s running Jelly Bean.

Now here’s where it really gets confusing, TCL Communication also released the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Idol. So what’s different? Well they both are very similar, although the Idol has a 4.7″ IPS display instead of the ultra’s HD AMOLED screen, a 2MP front facing camera, weighs just only 110g and will come with a Brushed metal finish.

Hopefully they will arrive in Australia before the end of 2013.

Interesting, a choice between IPS and AMOLED, I like that. I have trouble using my S3 without a case, the thing is just too thin in my hand and feels weird, maybe it’s just me tho.

everything will be out of date by the time it’s released… announcement is useless without the actual release… all they do promise promise… you will lose customer.. in the case of nexus 4, announcement and actual release are all good, but they got no stock wtf?

“Hopefully they will arrive in Australia before the end of 2013.” by then iphone 6 would arrive which will be much thinner and lighter

That’s crazy thin. I wonder how much that one weighs
