Asus Nexus 7 Desktop Dock
The Nexus 7 dock has been like the unicorn of the Android world. We’ve heard about it, seen pictures, and you can probably get a poor-quality one from China, but since the release of the Nexus 7 in July of last year, Asus have kept mum on its availability.

Until today, that is. Asus has advised Ausdroid this morning that the Nexus 7 dock will be available in February from The Good Guys and BSR(Betta Electrical) for $49. No word yet on availability from other Nexus 7 retailers such as EBGames, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi etc but we’ll be keeping a close eye on them.

We’ve waited a long time for this, people. Will any of you be joining me in picking one up as soon as they’re available?

It’s the !0th of February and there is still no dock available from the Good Guys or Beta Electrical. :((((((((((

I went and pre-ordered one with The Good Guys @ Loganholme. Their stock is due in on the 11/2/13 although they have yet to confirm the price. They only have 2 on order, so I imagine most stores will sell out quickly.

Put me down for 2 (bed side table and work). Just being able to drop the tablet in to charge (rather than stuffing around with the cable) will be worth the money.

Hmm what’s the percentage mark-up on something that costs $3 to make and sells for $49? I’ll pass thanks.

pete

yes. I will be getting this. No doubt.

Ahhh, if only this dock was more tablet-case-friendly!

Well Asus’ official case blocks the pogo pins anyway.

I want 2, 1 for the office and the other for home! Haha

What I want is a slightly tilted portrait table that charges and makes typing a little bit easier. Though this thing will be nice in the kitchen. Watch movies while cooking.

Damn really want one, not sure I can justify that price tag though.

Also it’s a shame you have to take it out of the travel cover too!

Count me in!!!

No Question, I`m in, even just so I can set it up in the kitchen or use it as a digital photo frame.

I’m definitely interested and will head to a store to check one out as soon as they’re available. Not sure if I actually have a need for one or if it’s just the “unicorn” appeal.
