This morning, Samsung opened their Melbourne Experience store in the Highpoint Shopping Centre in Maribyrnong, and also announced the Australian release of the much-anticipated Galaxy Note 8.0. I was fortunate enough to be able to play with the Note 8.0, and I will be posting a full hands-on later today, but in short, I was very impressed.
The Wi-Fi only Note 8.0 is available to pre-order today for $459 in-store, and is expected to ship in the second week in April. The 4G-equipped version will be available in May, and yes, you can use it as a phone. If you’re unsure about whether or not you want the Note 8.0, go and check it out in your local Samsung Experience store.
Lets hope the number of pre-orders gives Samsung and idea of how much their pricing might affect them. If they provide a better pricing, more units will be sold. Therefore, more developers will put more effort into s-pen apps that would benefit Samsung’s app market.
wow .. way to expensive
Quite expensive
I thought all galaxy note models comes with network enabled
100 dollars too much. Simple.
RickH, what do you mean the tech guy demonstrating the Note 2..was this like a training workshop near the training tables?
Is there a price on the 3g phone version?
$459 for the wifi version isnt that great imo.
They did not say. But I agree, not really a great price.
mini ipad is $359, So this is $100 more than Apple…way to go samsung……shoot ur own legs
Yeargh! I was there too but the lights went out and the store was evacuated. Then Samsung managers ushered every one in to attract the customers back.
Unfortunately, the “tech guy” that was demonstrating the Note 2 had little idea. Much better to get the reviews from Ausdroid then go check ’em out in the hand. If it feels good, price good, looks good, get it.
Haha, I’m glad that didn’t happen while I was there! Did you get your free face mug?
