Now that we’re all super excited about the brand-spankin’ new Galaxy S 4 from Samsung, how about we go right ahead and compare with two other brand new phones of 2013.. on paper at least, because we all know real-world performance varies greatly. If you’re a specs person, you’ll appreciate this nonetheless.

HTC One is awesome. everyone else can $u#% my d&$%
As Buzz said, real-world performance is sooooo much more important than looking at specs. Comparing specs these days is kind of like a rocking chair – it gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.
For my is the Xperia Z the best. Water-dust proof and nice design… back and front made of dragontrial glass, back corning gorilla glass…
Update to Android 4.2 soon in April….5 inch to watch movies…. I go to buy to morrow… thanks for the reviews….
I have been Galaxy since original but cant help feeling its a GS3S and not a 4. I like look of Z but dont want outdated chip. Do we know what OZ S4 is definitely getting.
Xperia Z is water resistent… Bloom and not made of carp cheap material
pretty sure the htc one has a 64gb varient as well, unless the htc aus site is incorrect
I think 2 nexus 4’s might be better. Don’t need LTE in WA. DCHSDPA is fine
Xperia ZL for me.
Im leaning towards the Z but its just that its last years hardware (except the screen)
So its in the back of my mind that the One will the be one to go for (but although sense has improved I told myself never again)
Im really not too much of a fan of the S4 since I had the s3 for a short while. Doesnt make me jump out my seat in excitement.
Isn’t the GS4 the only one with 80211ac wifi, too? I’ll take the plastic phone with the better features, thanks!
The HTC One has AC too.
Ah, one redeeming feature for the One, then. Wonder why Buzz left that out? I (To be fair, it is some time since there was something new in wifi)
buying a phone for wifi speeds?
What could you possibly do on a phone that would make ac needed? I know its a nice feature and all but im just curious why you think its so essential.
Streaming HD video? 64GB is a decent chunk of storage space. It’s one factor, not something I would base a decision on itself.
Nice future proofing. Streaming 4K video in the future would be lovely.
Of course the glossy glass durable xperia z and not the cheap plastic samsung GS 4
Agree with xperia Z design s4 hardware. The xperia z fullfills most of what i want. I would imagine the developer community would better support the s4 tho. But the z falls short in terms of useable battery life imo. Screen on time is very important as use my phone more then i carry it. Samsung have a good track record in this area. Simple things like watching a video is far longer lasting on my s3. Tho web browsing is the short fall of an amoled screen. Once i see some real world battery tests of the s4 ill… Read more »
The HO(Wow, need better acronym) is my choice
Personally, Sony Experia design with GS4 hardware would rock. Not really feeling the need to upgrade to any of the handsets to be honest. If I had to pick one it would be the GS4 though
