HTC One

With a pretty dismal year to date financially, things may be looking up for HTC according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. An unnamed HTC executive has advised them that sales figures for its flagship device the HTC One are ‘Around five million’ since it went on-sale around the world last month. The source went on to say :

Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. When the issue is resolved next month, we will have a better idea if it’s doing really well or not

If these figure turn out to be correct, this is certainly looking good for HTC, but the device is clearly not selling as well as its main rival the Samsung Galaxy S4, with Samsung claiming to have sold 10 million units.

Will this be enough to save HTC from its financial troubles? There is no question that HTC know how to produce a quality device, so lets hope they can pull themselves back up again.

I just replaced my Galaxy Nexus with a HTC One, I’m impressed with the speed of it (slick as snot as a friend of mine says). I did have to change the launcher to Apex as I missed the stock Android look of the home screen.

I did look at the S4, but it didn’t impress me as much.

HTC have done a fantastic job of it and I hope they continue to do well.

I do hope all the best for HTC as I’m getting a one outright soon but I do have to say they should be putting bigger batteries in their devices, my only experience with HTC other than my nexus one was a Desire HD and the Sensation and they both had pretty terrible battery life…not sure if they’ve improved or not in recent years

I’ve been getting about a day out of the battery with average use. I can’t complain about that. If you use the phone heavily then expect to be plugging it into the wall before days end.

BTW the power saving mode works pretty good at battery life preservation.

I’m guessing the main thing eating the battery as usual will be the screen? I should be alright I’m never too far from a charger, boomsound is the main appeal to me of One
