With a Samsung event set for June 20th, the rumours surrounding upcoming devices that could possibly launch at this event aren’t going to stop. The device currently speculated at launching at the event is the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, however there are definitely other devices within the Galaxy range which could possibly launch and today specs for some of those upcoming devices have leaked.
The specification ‘leaks’ come from Russian site hi-tech.mail.ru who have apparently received details on the Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy Ace 4 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
First up is the Galaxy S4 Active The ruggedised, impact and water resistant version of the Galaxy S4 will be showing it’s stuff soon and if these specifications are correct, it’s very similar to the existing Galaxy S4 :
Galaxy S4 Active Specs
- 5” Super AMOLED Full HD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB storage, also has microSD slot
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
- LTE support
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- 2600 mAh battery
Samsung could possibly be aiming this phone at everyday users who want performance, screen size and some nice specs on their devices as well as the protection of a ruggedised device with ingress protection.
The next device is the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which has been rumoured to be a hybrid camera phone, the rumour suggests that the specs are enough to entice a reasonable number of purchases for people who are looking for a small-ish device, carrying a decent battery and capable of good photos especially with the 10x Optical Zoom included.
Galaxy S4 Zoom Specs
- 4.3″ Screen running 960×540 resolution
- 1.6GHz dual core processor
- 8GB Storage with MicroSD slot built in
- 16MP rear camera with optical zoom (10x)
- 1.9MP front facing camera
- Bluetooth 4.0

Perhaps the processor or lower end resolution will be a deal-breaker for some users, however the 10x Optical Zoom is the key feature on this device. Only sales will tell us in the long run.
The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, was recently rumoured to be coming with an Intel Cloverfield CPU, the latest leak from hi-tech.mail.ru suggests some further specifications to add to the mix.

- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS
- 6800 mAh battery
- Weighing a touch over 500 grams
The Galaxy Ace 3 is an update to the relatively popular Galaxy Ace devices which have been sold predominantly as prepaid devices within Australia. Samsung has gotten to where they are now, by covering most of the pricepoints in the Smartphone range and the Galaxy Ace series offers a decent low to mid-range specification
Galaxy Ace 3 Specs
- 4” 800 x 480 resolution screen
- 1GB Ram
- 4GB storage, MicroSD slot included
- 1GHz dual core processor
- Jelly Bean OS – not confirmed if it’s 4.1.2 or 4.2 yet
- 5 megapixel rear and a 0.3mpx front camera
- 1500 mAh battery
it’s clearly not aimed to set the world on fire with it’s specs or performance, but it’s likely to be a solid and reliable phone as have been the rest of the Galaxy Ace phones.
While there’s no official word confirming any of the specifications listed, pricing or even a confirmation that the devices will even be released within Australia; hi-tech mail report via internal sources that the devices are in fact ready to ship and will start appearing in stores in June.
The last rumoured spec leak comes from German site AllAboutSamsung and gives rumoured specs for the Galaxy S4 Mini which recently showed up on Samsungs Apps page.
Galaxy S4 Mini Specs
- 4.3″ Super AMOLED screen runnig 960 × 540 resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, dual core 1.7GHz processor
- 1.5 GB RAM

- LTE and GSM support
- Android 4.2.2
For such a small phone, it’s got the potential to be quite a beast. While Australia never saw the previous model the Galaxy S3 Mini, it’s still possible this device may ship to our shores.
Samsung has definitely got the market covered when it comes to addressing every screen size and price point in their Smartphone range, it’s hard to say what will be announced at the event in London on June 20th, but we’ll be covering it via the Samsung Mobile Youtube Channel at 7pm London time on the 20th of June, 4am AEST on the 21st of June for us here in Australia
