We’ve just finished rounding up today’s Samsung news and rumours, and then this lands in our inbox. After months of rumour and speculation, it looks like Samsung has finally confirmed the launch of the Galaxy S4 mini.

In line with the rumours we’ve seen, Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S4 mini is coming, featuring 4G compatibility, running Android 4.2.2, and a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display. Powering all this is a unspecified 1.7GHz dual-core processor and 1.5 GB RAM. Being a ‘Mini’ version, the onboard RAM is a bit less than the Galaxy S 4, and the internal storage is a little less at 8GB as well. The rear camera is also brought down a bit from 13mp in the Galaxy S 4 to 8mp in the Galaxy S 4 mini, and so’s the weight – down to 107 grams!

While there are some reductions, the Galaxy S 4 mini will feature a number of TouchWiz features from its big brother, including Sound&Shot, Panorama Shots and Story Album photo features, as well as the much-hyped (and perhaps less-lauded) S Health and S Translator apps.

Coming in a snowy White Frost or darker Black Mist colour, the Galaxy S 4 mini is likely to be available soon-ish, but we haven’t heard exactly when. The Verge reports that Samsung will be showing off the new Mini at the upcoming Galaxy & ATIV event in London on June 20th.

Excited about the Galaxy S 4’s smaller brother?

I’d take a HTC One Mini! The flagships are just way too huge

Seems like an incremental upgrade to the Galaxy S2~~~
I always wonder why anybody would buy this mini series instead of the flagships of last year.

Since it’s a mini of the S4 with a lot of the same features, how much of the on board storage from 8gb will be left, I wonder.

Its aimed at the people who dont want a 4.8-5.0 inch screen.

Most people that want a smaller device are generally stuck with cheap crap on the android side or the iphone.
