Thanks to an awesome collaboration between Sony Mobile and the CyanogenMod team, the official camera firmware for a range of Sony devices have been merged with CM 10.1. It’s truly excellent to see Sony working with the developer community in any capacity, and these features will surely be welcomed by users.
Current this firmware change allows for:
- HDR (only picture)
- ISO modes
- Scene modes
- Sony’s image/video stablisation
That’s not the end of it all, either. The CM team have confirmed that HDR Video and Shutter Speed Control will be added to CyanogenMod in the future.
So which devices will be reaping the benefits of all this? The following will:
- Xperia T
- Xperia Z
- Xperia ZL
- Xperia V
- Xperia Tab Z LTE/Wi-Fi

This is amazing. If only Samsung and HTC would do the same for their Google Edition phones.
sony are really leading the way in terms of supporting the developer community. samsung are at the other end of the spectrum, going out of their way to deny developers chip source.
Yep! Sure are. I wish I liked their phones, because their attitude to the community is fantastic.
If only other manufacturers would embrace the developer community like Sony …
Gotta admit that is awesome by the Sony boys and girls. This could lean a few people towards a sony device if they’re preference is vanilla android but enhanced photo capabilities.
Wow, that’s awesome. (I’m listening for future purchases)
