The evidence for this rumour is sketchy at best, but according to the Korea Economic Daily, Samsung are getting ready to release a 12.2-inch Android tablet. Considering that you can now buy a Samsung Galaxy device in any size from 4-inches to 11.6 inches, the rumour itself doesn’t seem like much of a stretch.
Both a 10″ and a 12.2″ Galaxy Note tablet were tipped by @evleaks in late July, indicting that they would carry an Exynos 5 Octa CPU in the 12.2″ tablet and a Snapdragon 800 processor in the 10″ tablet. User Agent Profiles(UAProf) were found for an SM-P600(10″) and SM-P900(12.2″) on Samsungs website, further cementing the rumour.
The 12.2″ tablet refered to by the Korea Economic Daily is said to use a Samsung display with a ‘higher than HD resolution’, which matches up with the rumoured SM-P900. 9 to 5 Google are quoting The Inquirer as saying that the tablet will feature an S-Pen and Android 4.3 and will launch in October.
Would you consider buying a 12.2-inch tablet? What would be the benefits of such a large device? Let us know in the comments.
I too still use my TF101 and since I use mainly at home, a bigger screen suits me heaps as I use accessories so I do not have to hold my heavy tablet with either hands. Will I buy it??? The only problem is that this tablet and docking accessories will be more expensive than the most expensive Ipad.
I wouldn’t wait for Asus, our TF101 will never get jelly bean, time to switch brands.
Yea i’m not expecting Asus to update the tf101, thats already a given. I’m more interested in what they’ll bring to the market in the future…. ie tf 12inch would be nice……
As for the update I took the plunge and installed Team EOS 4.2.2 now clocked at 1.6.. made me happy all over again……so i can wait.
Absolutely would if it came with a dock….still using my tf101 as nothing is interesting me atm. Or might just wait to see what asus has up their sleave.
my hand gets tired holding my Nexus 7 when reading !
