While the Nexus 7 (2013) may have been released in the US a few weeks ago it is still yet to be released in Australia. While the release may be imminent, with no comment or announcements from Google Australia, if you wish to be one of the early adopters then a grey market import is one way to go.
This evening, possibly in preparation for an upcoming official Australian release, Kogan have dropped the price of the 2013 Nexus 7. The 16GB and 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) can now be purchased for $289 and $329 respectively (with free shipping). While these prices are a premium on top of the prices on the US Play store they are likely to be very competitive as they are $10 each less than the apparent local prices leaked by PLE Computers earlier this month. The tablets from Kogan come with a 12 month warranty, ship in 1-2 weeks, and are currently the cheapest way to purchase a new Nexus 7 (2013) in Australia.
If Google keep the price difference between the US versions and the Australian versions of the Nexus 7 (2013) as they did for the 2012 edition the Kogan price is very competitive and are possibly an attempt to entice buyers who are waiting for it to be released locally before taking the plunge and purchasing the Nexus 7 (2013).
Will you be heading over to Kogan to purchase a Nexus 7 (2013) now or will you continue to wait for it to be released here?
Google Australia have been quiet quite alot lately… Nexus 7, gift cards.

I wouldn’t trust Kogan to be able to honor the warranty
don’t quote me on this but according to the Asus website the Nexus 7 comes with a worldwide warranty anyway. ( http://support.asus.com/Warranty.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Nexus%207%20%282013%29&p=28&s=2 )..but this is the risk you take buying from grey market importers- while they offer a warranty you are often left to deal with a non-official repairer who may or may not be as competent as the official repairers.

I’m waiting for the LTE version. Once it arrives (regardless of which market it arrives in first) I’ll be buying.
Same here. But we’ll have to wait for a UK version of the N7 cause the US one doesn’t work am I right? Can anyone confirm this?
