Back in July, a Google Glass update accidentally triggered speculation of a forthcoming app store for the device, but that’s now been made all-but-official according to a report by The New York Times.
The report asserts that a Glass app store is set to debut sometime in 2014, and a Google representative has confirmed this through Marketing Land.
Rumours have stated that the app store would be named Boutique, but this wasn’t confirmed – whether or not that name sticks is yet to be seen.
This news all but confirms that Google is gearing up to release its long-awaited headgear to the public next year. Details are of course still somewhat sparse, so we can only speculate on Google’s plans surrounding the eventual release of the device.
Are you considering buying Google Glass? Tell us your thoughts below!
I want to say yes but I just don’t see the use scenario for me. The last thing I need is another connection to the net
Until there is a version that is designed to be mounted on ordinary prescription glasses frames, I won’t be considering buying Google Glass.
