Nexus FCC

You all know that mystery LG phone that made an appearance at the FCC a few days ago, well according to @evleaks this device is nothing more than a CDMA variant of the LG G2. @evliaks also went on to post some information about a couple of other G2 variants as well.

I don’t tend to pay too much attention to leaks as we still don’t know anything about the device in question but the one thing that is bothering me about it all is the camera placement. This may well be a CDMA variant but it looks an awful lost like the Nexus device we saw in that Google video.

I for one am not going to dismiss the possibility that this could still be a nexus device but at the same time I will not be surprised if Google have a few more surprises for us.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

The LG-D820 (which is the suspected N5) is 131.9mm x 68.2mm (length and width). The LG G2 (D802 for UK, D802TA for Australia, D803 for Canada) is 138.5mm x 70.9mm. The LG-D820 is a smaller device than any variant of the G2. We know that the LG-D820 has a 126mm display, which is 4.96 inches. The G2 has 5.2 inch display. So which ever phone the LG-D820 turns out to be, it is not a 5.2 inch G2. I suspect evleaks is trying to spread misinformation to confuse the issue, at Googles behest to keep the relationship sweet. Surely they… Read more »

Darren – I think you will find @evleaks is confusing the D820 with the D821. It seems they are assuming the D820 and D821 are the same device, which as we know from the specifications, they are not.

@evleaks is definitely not on the ball on this one.

(Also, you spelt @evleaks as @evliaks at the end of the first paragraph).

Compare the size of the device, battery and screen in the FCC documents. Also look at the Camera placement.

If this is a G2 variant it is a totally different device.

i agree with all of the above statements. Nothing that evleaks has said matches either the FCC filings or the bluetooth sig filings. Could just be us skewing the data the way we want it to but I’m happy with that…
I second that fingers crossed for a nexus! or in this forum should i say i +1 it 😀
