Qualcomm is the worlds leading designer and manufacturer of mobile System on Chip (SoC). The Snapdragon series of SoC has been hugely successful for them. The Qualcomm Toq (pronounced “talk”) Smartwatch is a demonstration of Qualcomm’s prowess. From the silicon that runs the watch to the Mirasol display and Wireless Power WiPower LE charging, it’s designed to showcase Qualcomm’s ingenuity and engineering.
Like most smart watches at the moment, it has to be paired with an Android phone to receive most of its smarts, requiring the paired device to run Android 4.0.3 Jelly Bean or above. Using the Mirasol Display technology the Toq should last up to 3 days before recharging.

Do you have a smart watch? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments!
Not including Bluetooth 4 seems like a poor decision. Perhaps that’s why only has 3 days battery life which isn’t suitable for a device like this.
Wasn’t 4.0.3 … ICS..??
Ausdroid copied the info direct from the specs page for the Toq
Qualcomm put “4.0.3 Jelly Bean” on that page.
“Requires 4.0.3; Jelly Bean and up preferred”
I thought that’s pretty clear.. will work on 4.0.3, but Jelly Bean and up is preferred? 🙂
You only have “Requires 4.0.3 Jelly Bean and up preferred” written. This makes it read as if the Jelly Bean moniker is possessed by 4.0.3, rather than also describing a separate OS level. If you change it to what you have above “Requires 4.0.3; Jelly Bean and up preferred”, that would be perfect. The latter one you’ve typed is also good, but the former is best.
Is “Toq” prnounced “talk”… or is it just that Americans already pronounce “talk” “toq”?
They need fatter actors. The thing looks huge and possible ugly
The white Toq is a smartwatch I would LIKE to own. It’s got a wide band and large face/screen, but overall the watch doesn’t look squared off, chunky, and masculine like the Sony.
Unfortunately, it’s stil listed as ‘coming soon’, with no pre-order available. 🙁
