Acer C720 i3
The Haswell based C720 has been on our shelves here in Australia since at least late last year, and was updated earlier this year with the touchscreen based C720P. Now it appears that Acer is ready to up the internals to an Intel Core i3 version.

Acer has told Slashgear that the Core i3 based Chromebook will be the ‘most powerful Chromebook on the market’ but will be released with pricing to reflect that. There will apparently be both 14″ and 15″ models released with a base model arriving in the ‘Summer’ – US Summer that is, Winter here in Australia.

An Intel Core i3 would allow for a lot of processing power and with 14″ and 15″ models, we’re hoping for higher resolution screens to match, possibly with Acer retaining the touchscreen that the C720P was released with.

Nothing official has been announced so stay tuned for more information on these soon.
