Pictures claiming to be of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime in the wild have cropped up over the weekend. The pictures show off the phones design which appears to be similar to that of the current Galaxy S5, but with a metallic band surrounding the phone.
The hardware is rumoured to include a fairly significant upgrade, including a 5.2″ 2560×1440 QHD screen, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM and an Adreno 420 GPU. Currently, the Galaxy S5 Prime – the SM-G906 – is said to be launching in the same colours as the Galaxy S5 – Black, White, Gold, Blue and Pink – although the Pink option is only available in South Korea.
Pricing wise, the phone is said to be either announced or launched in June for a price of US$880 (AUD$940).
Finally, if you’re keen, it appears that TK TECH NEWS has released a couple of hands-on video with what they claim is a pre-production model of the Galaxy S5 Prime. It looks like a Galaxy S5 with an aftermarket back, but you decide. There’s two videos with the second showing the hardware specs, which unfortunately show the phone has a Snapdragon 801 processor and standard FHD screen – but it is running Android 4.4.3, so it could be a Galaxy S5 Active. Check them out and see what you think Galaxy S5 Prime or Active?
Can’t be the prime. Still 1080p?
