Chromebook

One of the major announcements at Google I/O was Chrome OS devices being able to run Android apps.

During the video demonstration Sundar Pichai showed Evernote, Flipboard, and Vine running on a Chromebook. It’s not yet known how Google is doing this and whether the app is actually installed on the device, if it’s being mirrored, or if there is something else going on. One thing for sure, it’s exiting news for all you Chromebook owners out there.

Many of you who saw the demo probably started thinking about using your favourite Android apps on your Chromebook. Unfortunately, Google has said they won’t be able to support every Android app from day one. Only a few hand-picked apps selected by Google will be available at the start. However, the good news is, Google is asking for users to chime in with their favourite apps.

If you have any suggestions for your favourite Apps, you can hit the link below to fill out the survey. All you need to do is paste the Google Play URL of the app you want to suggest, simple as that.

    Surely, if ART is ‘truly cross platform’ as mentioned during the keynote, it should be possible to install that on Chromebooks and run every android app from day one.
