It seems the internet was in a bit of a flap over a recent video released by HTC, which showed a designer working on a 3D model of a watch. You can see this in freeze-frame, shown above.
However, it’s time to let the excitement die down just a little. HTC has commented on the product of the rumour-mill, stating:
“HTC encourages our design team to explore and tinker with new ideas and even models, as is the case with the watch some viewers noticed in our recent HTC Design video. It in no way indicates an actual product HTC is planning to release. Keep an eye on this space for exciting new products from HTC when they are ready to be announced!”
This doesn’t really sway me too much; we know HTC is an official Android Wear partner, so whether this is the design HTC is going with, there’s no doubt in my mind that HTC will be releasing something running Android Wear in the future, but it might not look like what’s shown in the video.
