Yatango
Two of the largest phone announcements happened at Mobile World Congress, with HTC announcing their HTC One M9, while Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and a curved screen variant called the Galaxy S6 Edge. While we haven’t seen official release dates or Australian pricing, Yatango Shopping has now begun taking pre-orders for all the handsets.

Yatango operates a ‘Member’ model for their pricing, knocking $50 off the price and offering a free delivery option on all the handsets. It’s free to become a Yatango Member, so it’s well worth looking at joining up to save yourself some cash.

HTC One M9
The HTC One M9 is available with 32GB storage only in three colour options: Silver, Gold and Gunmetal Grey for $849.95 for Yatango Shopping Members which includes free delivery. We’re assuming that the Silver version is the Silver/Rose Gold model, while the Gold option will be the all Gold model. There’s no word on whether the Pink/Gold option will be made available at this stage, nor if a 64GB model will be offered.

Yatango Shopping have advised that the HTC One M9 is scheduled to be available from March 31st.

Galaxy S6/S6 Edge
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is available in four colour options: Gold Platinum, Black Sapphire, White Pearl or Blue Topaz in three different storage options: 32GB, 64GB or 128GB depending on how much you want to pay.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is also available for pre-order with those storage options, but comes with slightly different colour options, including the totally hot Emerald Green colour, as well as White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum.

  • Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB – $999.95
  • Galaxy S6 Edge 64GB – $1099.95
  • Galaxy S6 Edge 128GB – $1199.95
  • In terms of when you can get your hands on the the Galaxy S6 lines, Yatango advises that both of the Galaxy S6 lines are scheduled for release from April 10th.

    Customs
It’s timely to remind you that phones purchased from Yatango ship into Australia from Hong Kong, so bear in mind that you’ll have to pay GST on the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge models – or indeed any phone which are imported which tip over the $1,000 mark as per the Australian Customs import guidelines – these phones also attract a Customs Processing Fee of $52.

If you want to get your hands on one of these handsets, then head on over to Yatango Shopping and check them out.

wow, $1099 is huge for the 64GB Edge. might have to save the $100 and get the Sandisk OTG so i can backup photos.. http://shop.ausdroid.net/epages/shop.sf/en_AU/?ObjectPath=/Shops/ausdroidshop/Products/SDDD-032G-Q46

I jus ordered mine from MobiCity .. is this a trusted source? I never have before but they have it mentionned that the emerald one was available to pre order does this mean they are actually getting the emerald green one? Im in Canada and only boring black and white are being released

Will wait for few months before i pick up the edge, as normally the prices get down, especially when people start selling their phone in gumtree when they upgrade their phone with carriers 🙂

    Ouch!

    whispy_snippet

    Eye-wateringly pricey!

You wouldn’t want a Samsung and be needing more than 32GB given there’s no SD card slot. Straight away, you’re paying $100 or $200 more than the M9 to get more storage.

I dont understand your comment. Both the S6 and M9 have the same base price. Are you just saying the M9 is more cost efficient due to it having an SD card slot?

    Pumpino

    Exactly.

    Mikhail Cass

So you’d choose the M9 over the S6 even with though the S6 has a better screen and camera for the same price? I’d choose the Edge personally…

    Pumpino

Yep. For me, the UI is more important. The M9 also has better speakers, a bigger battery, a better design and a FHD screen, which I prefer.

    Mikhail Cass

I never stated the features I liked because I thought you were comparing the two devices based features vs cost. I do agree speakers and SD card > S6 but wireless charging, fast charging, QHD, camera, the list goes on where the S6 offers more for your money.

N.P. I am pissed off that the sd card slot and removable battery are no longer present. But from what I see now the general market much prefer portable chargers than swappable batteries.

Depends on what you value in a phone. To me, those S6 features are useless and the number one issue I have with Samsung phones is their software. So until that changes drastically, I don’t care what the specs are.

    Mikhail Cass

I guess so, but to dismiss all of the phones features as useless seems a bit silly. You don’t think Samsung has done enough with TW on the S6?

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I think touchwiz looks a lot better now. The home screen to me still looks bad though.

    The M9 has fast charging
