Foxtel have put out an update today which announces the additon of a number of devices to their compatibility list. What hass caught the attention of users more than the fact more devices have come out is that the list is not dominated by Samsung devices.
The list posted on the Foxtel Community Page includes the LG G3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge, Samsung Tab S, Samsung Tab 4, Sony Xperia C3, Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet, HTC One (M8) and the Nexus 9.
It was only a matter of days ago I asked this exact question to Foxtel who responded with:
Hey @Foxtel when will you make Foxtel Go available to more devices? I can't install on my Z3 Compact or my Nexus 9 – both mainstream devcies
— Phil Tann (@prymal81) March 27, 2015
Interesting to see though, that Foxtel have also opened up access to the app to a number of unsupported devices just to ‘see if they work’, included in this list are:
Asus EEE Pad Transformer | Huawei Ascend P6 | Samsung Galaxy Mega |
---|---|---|
Asus Memo Pad HD 7r | Huawei Ascend P7 | Samsung Galaxy Nexus |
Google Nexus 10 | LG G3 | Samsung Galaxy Nexus |
Google Nexus 4 | LG L2 | Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7 |
Google Nexus 7 | Motorola Droid 4 | Sony Xperia C3 |
Google Nexus 7 v2 | Motorola Droid RAZR HD | Sony Xperia Z3 |
Google Nexus 9 | Motorola Moto G | Sony Xperia Z3 Compact |
HTC One | Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 | Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet |
HTC One S | Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 | |
HTC One X | Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo |
There is a note from Foxtel on the post on a couple of notable exceptions:
- Jailbroken and rooted devices are not supported
- International variants of existing supported devices have not been added. However if youβd like to request a specific device tell us the model number youβd like enabled and we will investigate.
It is wonderful to see more devices getting added to their compatible list of devices for Foxtel Go, now if only they could keep up and have all mainstream Android devices in the list there would be a lot more happy users of the Foxtel Go offerings.

Working on Hisense tv. Can’t get live tv to go full screen though
Any luck with this?
Im interested in getting the LG G4. Would really love foxtel go to work on that, But I have my Galaxy Tab 8 anyway,.
Foxtel are so slow. I’ve been harassing them for years over this. Every time I update to the latest android device I need to harass them for months before they make it available. I think it all comes down to them locking down the screen mirroring. Tested on my newly supported Tab S yesterday and sure enough you cant use Go while Allcast is switched on. That’s all they care about. Apple make it simple for them to do that, so they are on every ipad before it is released. So by the time they support my N6 I will… Read more Β»
Yep its because the competition happened. If you are no longer into sport Foxtel is already irrelevant.
do you really need Allcast ? or you don’t have foxtel and are using someone else’s account ? Just add Go to a PC and hook it to a TV via HDMI
I have the Note Pro 12.2.. the perfect media consumption tablet…. seriously…. Yes i’d love to watch football on a Xperia compact….
N9 and no N6? How does that work? Jesus Foxtel pick up your damn game.
Just installed on a N7’12. Since it is a rooted device, the “play” button will not appear. Clicking on any other program that has the play button visible tells me that to use Foxtel Go, I need a non jailbroken device π Oh well! I was going to un-root the device after upgrading to v5.1 this weekend.
CHROME-CAST SUPPORT. FFS!
convenient how this is released as soon as Netflix arrives, yet still doesn’t support all handsets. Pathetic…
Now, if they just let more then 3 devices for Foxtel on Tbox customers! π
OneplusOne international from oneplus. Thanks.
No Nexus 5?
It is available for Nexus 5 – it’s just not mentioned on the list above. Just checked the Play Store and it’s available for me.
