Samsung’s current gen flagships will be getting an update to Android 5.1, that’s been known for a while, but it could be coming as soon as next month, at least according to Canadian carrier Rogers.
The update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is expected to hit phones next month, bringing with it a number of features such as Guest mode, the ability to capture RAW photos in the camera app, and hopefully fixing the pesky memory leak issues that Chris and Jason both noted in our review.
The Android 5.1 software update hasn’t officially arrived at either Telstra, Optus or Vodafone according to the latest updates on their respective software update pages – so perhaps we’ll see more evidence in the next round of updates on that front.
At this stage, we’ll have to wait and see exactly what happens in the next month, but for at least some owners of the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, that fix for the memory leak issue can’t come soon enough.
