LG today has announced two new members of the G4 family, the G4 Stylus and G4c, with both phones bringing the iconic G4 flagship style to the lower end of the market.
The LG G4 Stylus and G4c are larger and smaller than the as yet unreleased in Australia G4, but each of the phones offers a similar design and features to the high-end device.
So lets take a quick look at both devices individually.
The G4 Stylus
First up we have the G4 Stylus which has a larger 5.7-inch 720p display and LG’s standard Rubberdium stylus. There is also a 13MP rear camera for the LTE version, while the 3G version will only have an 8MP rear camera. Both the 4G/LTE and 3G versions will come with a 5MP front facing camera – great for those stylish selfies! Beyond that the G4 Stylus comes with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, along with an 8GB memory on board which can be extended via MicroSD. To help power the phone there is a 3,000mAh removable battery.
The G4 Stylus will also carry some features over from the G4 which include Laser Auto Focus, Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code which has become quite popular and a favourite feature here at Ausdroid. The G4 Stylus will also come in the following available colours: Metallic Silver and Floral White.
The G4C
The next phone we have up is the G4c, which is a smaller scale G4, with a smaller 5-inch 720p display, though there’s no sign of a stylus on this model. Besides these differences the RAM, processor and storage are also pretty much the same, though with a smaller chasis, LG has dropped the capacity of the removable battery to 2,540mAh. Along with this the G4c comes with an 8MP rear camera, though the front facing camera stays at 5MP. The G4c will comes with some of the G4’s features which include Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code – again a favourite feature here at Ausdroid. It will also come available in the following colours as well: Metallic Grey, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold
Both phones come with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) running on them right out of the box with Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company saying that “The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price,” whilst continuing to say that “We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be.”
LG has said via their press release that both smartphones will begin shipping to retailers around the world in the next several weeks and throughout the month of May with the company further hinting that both smartphones ‘are scheduled to launch in key strategic markets in the weeks to come’, with prices and participating carriers to be announced locally at the time of availability.
We have reached out to LG Australia for comment and any details of when the G4 Stylus and G4c will become available here and which carrier or retailers will be stocking either smartphones and pricing.
