As part of their Google Cardboard 2.0 announcement, Google has also announced a new initiative aimed at schools – Expeditions.
Expeditions is a way to use Cardboard in a group format, allowing teachers to take students on a virtual field trip. Teachers control the virtual experience from a tablet, with students viewing the end results on their Cardboard headsets.
So far hundreds of classrooms have undertaken these virtual expeditions, which will feature content from partners such as the Planetary Society, American Museum of Natural History, the Palace of Versailles and more.
Teachers can sign up online to express interest in Expeditions at google.com/edu/expeditions where you can select to learn more about using Expeditions in your classroom, or creating content for Expeditions to be used by educators
