Here we go, the next wave in connected home/office and mobile lifestyle is here. Samsung has introduced the SE370 monitor, which is a Full HD screen, available in 23.6 and 27 inches that has Qi (Wireless Power Consortium Standard) built into the stand of the monitor. For anyone with a Qi compatible device – phone or tablet – this is probably going to be music to your ears. The ability to place your phone on your monitor stand and give it a quick top up or even keep it fully charged to ensure you’re never without battery again is a big bonus.
Senior VP of Visual Display Business had this to say about the inclusion of Qi capability in the new monitor from Samsung.
“Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles. Our customers increasingly rely on mobile devices to obtain information and interact with others; so by doing away with the clutter on their desks, we are helping them to use their mobile devices in a smarter way,”
The panel runs at (as mentioned full HD) 1920 x 1080, has a 4ms response time and a 178 degree viewing angle which means that this is going to be an ideal monitor not only for business application but also for photo/video editing, coders and gamers alike.
If Qi charging isn’t it, what added feature would get you out to buy a new monitor for your pc?
