More images of what is presumed to be the next Sony Xperia Z5 and its smaller companion the Z5 Compact have surfaced on Twitter thanks to tipster @vizileaks. The image shows the side of the phone featuring Sony’s, now familiar, OmniBalance design. The Sim and SD card slot is missing from this image so it’s unclear where they have be relocated to.
The picture provides a clear image of the power button which his rumored to include a fingerprint scanner in this iteration of Sony’s flagship devices. The image whilst not the highest quality definitely shows a very different power button to Sonys contemporary design (below). The round aluminium power button has been replaced by a rounded rectangle. This departure from their current design language definitely lends credence to the rumors.
Sony has announced their IFA Berlin Press Conference for September 2nd where it is expected that Sony will officially announce the new Xperia Z line. Ausdroid’s own Dan Tyson and Jason Murray will be covering IFA live from the show floor so stay tuned for out live coverage.
Sony could be amazing… they get so close… then their software skin just lets them down in my book… it just looks ugly and all the Sony bloatware, so much bloat!!!
Well, I’ll be all ears for this! It’ll come down to the new nexus 5 or the z5compact as my next phone.
Either way, it’s an early Xmas present.
