Popular audio streaming service, SoundCloud has updated their app in Google Play with a long awaited feature: Google Cast.
SoundCloud is a great way for budding artists to upload their music and be found, its a way for audio clips of any type to be uploaded and stored and for a user; its a way to find music you may want to check out. Unfortunately if you’ve got Google Cast (Chromecast, Nexus Player or compatible speakers) in your home, until now you’ve been forced to push the sound via Bluetooth or over headphones but with the Android App update today SoundCloud supports Google Cast.
You don’t even need to have an account to enjoy single clips on their web interface, but if you’re planning on using the app you’ll need to sign up. It is quick and simple if you choose to sign up with your Google account.
The integration of Chromecast is quite good, the icon is there from the start once you open the app if you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network with Chromecast’s. If you’ve got Google Cast in your life, check out the updated SoundCloud app at the Play Store.
We’ve never actually used SoundCloud for our biggest audio property: the Ausdroid podcast, but if you think we should be uploading it to SoundCloud for your listening pleasure sing out below.
Soundcloud is pretty cool for finding new music and listening to new and obscure stuff from established artists. Oh, and podcasts 😉
