Samsung’s IFA announcement next week will include their latest smartwatch the Samsung Gear S2, there’s really no secret there with Samsung themselves showing the teaser at the end of their Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ announcements. Now they’re furthering the hype building by showing the watch off on various platforms, the latest of which is Instagram.
The picture comes from the Instagram account of Dennis Miloseski, Vice President. Head of Studio, Samsung Design America. Head of Samsung Mobile UXCA. The watch is shown with a stylish watch face which certainly looks promising, with a sun/moon phase and Day/Month/Date dials (complications). The watch itself looks pretty decent as well, with a nice depth to the screen making it look a little more naturally like a traditional clockwork watch.
There’s not much to be said about the bands, though it’s expected that as this is Samsung there will be multiple bands available for purchase or will be standard size.
The Gear S2 will be running Samsung’s Tizen OS, so will very likely only officially available to Samsung phone owners as has previously been the case. We’ll be checking it out though to see what all the fuss is about when it’s announced in Berlin next week.
If that’s the real deal it’s a darn good looking watch! Hopefully the specs and functionality are to match.
