With the focus on 3D, as well as VR these days thanks to Samsung’s Gear VR, Google’s Cardboard, Occulus’ Rift, HTC’s Vive and so on, there’s a massive cry for content to feed these devices. The need isn’t just for content, it’s easily creatable and shareable content and this is where 3D and animation content creator Human Eyes and their Vuze camera comes in.

The Vuze is a sub-US$1000 camera which can capture and share 360º 3D VR video footage in 4K resolution. The footage is captured on 8 cameras built into a decidedly spaceship looking body, with the footage stitched together in near real-time.

The kicker is that the Vuze camera won’t be available until August this year, but at that time, everything a narcisistic movie maker will then need is a selfie stick, 3D goggles and a tripod and you could be the first 3D VR Spielberg.

How do you believe 3D video content will change the way that we consume various media streams in the future?
