Samsung’s eagerly anticipated Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are now officially on sale, and this is news because Australia is one of the first markets around the world where customers can buy the new smartphones. From today, the Galaxy S7 range is available from all major carriers, a number of retail partners, as well as Samsung’s online store and Experience Stores in Melbourne and Sydney.
The Galaxy S7 sells for $1,149, while the Galaxy S7 Edge retails for $1,249. Of course, given time, retailers can be expected to discount these prices a little, but don’t expect that to happen for a while yet.
Samsung is rather proud of these new phones, as you might expect. Samsung Electronics Australia’s Prasad Gokhale said:
“We’re immensely proud to announce that pre-sales for the Galaxy S7 range have set a new record for Samsung in Australia.
More Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices have been sold in a pre-sale period than ever before for a flagship Samsung smartphone launch in Australia.
We believe the amazing reception for the Galaxy S7 range in Australia is due to the way we have listened to consumers to deliver a device that can offer meaningful benefits to everyday lives. This includes features like an amazing camera, IP68 water resistance, fast-charging battery technology, and expandable SD card memory.
Let us know — have you pre-ordered a new Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge? If not, are you planning on buying one? Tell us in the comments what your thoughts are!
but the compatible wireless chargers are no where to be seen !
which is half the reason why i bought an s7e.
I pre-ordered an S7 edge from HN but looks like there is a shortage of the silver already as it’s showing as not in stock. Black and gold good to go. I might just pick one up today and cancel my pre-order.
Don’t forget the VR. You’ll lose that.
Yeah I know but I’ve already ordered one separately as I wanted 2. I’ll probably just wait and see or if I can get the black instead
