Android Wear 2.0 is yet to make it officially to our shores but when it does finally make it there will hopefully be many apps ready for us to take advantage of the updated OS. AccuWeather is one such app that has been updated/released for Android Wear 2.0.

AccuWeather has been available for all Android smartphones, tablets and wearables for a long time now and is “the global leader in weather information and digital media”. The app allows users to stay connected to local weather conditions and received severer weather alerts for those areas. This can be personalised by the user easily from the app.

The new AccuWeather app for Android Wear 2.0 gives the user six “complications” to choose from. These allow the user to personalise the watchface allowing a different function for different tap areas. The choices include:

  • Current conditions
  • Cloud cover
  • Precipitation
  • AccuWeather RealFeel® temperature
  • Wind speed

Tapping on the “complication” takes the user to the “Now” screen where they can view current conditions, current temperature, high and low temperatures for the day. Tapping on the “Now” screen gives the user an hourly forecast for the next 12 hours. A third tap opens AccuWeather on your phone/tablet for more detailed information.

AccuWeather has also developed a customisable watchface for Android Wear 2.0 which can be selected once the new AccuWeather Android Wear 2.0 app is installed. AccuWeather for Android Wear 2.0 can be installed from the Play Store from now.

Does anyone use Android Wear 2.0 on any watches? What do you have? Let us know how this app performs for you.

Very cool! Let’s hope the local weather apps do this as well. The complications is a great idea.
