The latest phone from OPPO has been lurking around the interwebs for a while now and it’s launch and details have taken no one by surprise. Overnight OPPO have officially taken the wraps off their new device, the F3 Plus.
The OPPO F3 Plus was rumoured to be the “Selfie Expert” with OPPO attempting to capture the market for those that love their selfies (don’t we all?). Not only is there a 16MP f/2.0 front facing camera but an 8MP 120 degree wide angled front facing camera AS WELL. Sky Li, OPPO Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business says that “The F3 Plus marks the beginning of a new ‘Group Selfie’ trend, and reinforce our position as the Selfie Expert.” There is also dedicated software on the F3 Plus to aid the Group Selfie.
The 16MP rear camera has been co-developed with Sony is equipped with an IMX398 sensor, f/1.7 aperture and features dual phase detection autofocus technology. To say OPPO have focused on making this a decent camera phone is an understatement.
The F3 Plus is powered by an octa-core processor (Snapdragon 653), 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of internal storage. The SIM tray can hold either dual nano SIMs or a single nano SIM and a microSD card which can handle card sizes up to 256GB. ColorOS 3.0 has been installed over the top of Android 6.0.1. The phone comes in a Black and a Gold colour
The F3 Plus is a big phone and as such houses a 4000mAh battery providing juice to a 6in 1080P display protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The phone includes OPPO’s proprietary fast charging VOOC Flash Charge Solution which allows users to get up to two hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging.
At this stage pricing for Australia is unknown, as is the launch date. It is launching first in India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar with hopefully Australia to follow not long after. We have reached out to OPPO for local details.
