While it’s good to see budget devices coming with a somewhat close to current Android software – the Alcatel U5 comes with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) – right out of the box, it’s probably a good bet it won’t see any update past this, though we hope there’s at least some security updates/patches. That said the main selling point is absolutely the price.

If you’re interested in finding out more about the Alcatel U5 4G, you can either visit the Vodafone Australian website, though you currently cannot purchase the device from website – instead you will need to head to your local Vodafone store. You can also visit the Alcatel website to find out more about the U5 4G.

The Alcatel U5 is available from your local Vodafone Store for $99 and is device is network locked to the Vodafone Australian network and unlocking fees will apply should you wish to unlock it. Please refer to the Vodafone website for more information.
