Huawei will unveil their latest high-end phone at an event in Germany, but it won’t be at IFA according to Polish site, Tabletwo, the event will instead take place a little later in Munich on October 16th.
Specs for the Mate 10 include rumours of a6″ edge-to-edge 18:9 aspect ratio display with a 2160×1080 resolution – a spec seemingly confirmed by the CEO of Huawei Consumer division earlier this week. The new 10nm process HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC will be powering the phone and we’ll likely see dual Leica branded camera on the rear.
The report also says that, like many Huawei phones before it, a ‘lite’ version of the phone will be launched at the same event though with a smaller, possibly 5.8″ display and possibly different specs.
The Polish source suggests a PLN4,000 price tag – a mammoth $1399AUD – for the phone, though the Mate 10 lite could come in as low as PLN 1,999 – around $699AUD.
The Mate series has been quite popular here in Australia, so we’ll likely see it launch here at some stage soon after the announcement. All will be revealed in October apparently, so we’ll be keen to see what the launch brings.
