The Australian launch of the Huawei Watch 2 is going ahead, but there’s a change with MVNO Vaya announcing they too will be selling the 4G enabled smartwatch outright and on a plan.
You can get the Huawei Watch 2 from Vaya on either a 12-month, or 24-month contract. The plan they’re advocating for will set you back $33 and then $33 per month for 24 months – that’s $825 total minimum cost over that 2-year period. There are a variety of deals though, so on a 12-month plan you’ll pay $60 per month, plus your monthly fee, while you’ll pay $60 per month on the 24-month plan plus your monthly plan cost.
Vaya is currently running a deal offering 6 Months of free Unlimited Calls, SMS, MMS & 1GB Data with every outright device purchase, so paying the $599 could be beneficial in that respect as the contracts aren’t lock-in so you can leave any time.
The only other note on the Huawei Watch 2 from Vaya is that it’s only available in Black, so no funky orange colour option.
Vaya stock of the Huawei Watch 2 ships on the 31st of August, so you have plenty of time to wait for Vodafone to announce their plans for the Watch 2.
