Google Play App Deal of the Week
While Google Docs and other cloud document editors are great, but offline support is much better with OfficeSuite Pro + PDF offering a local solution.
OfficeSuite Pro should be familiar to a lot of people as it’s been an included piece of software from a number of OEMs over the years. It supports all the common office document file types as well as including full compatibility with Microsoft formats, and of course PDF. Essentially if someone sends you a document you’ll be able to open it.
It’s a good looking, easy to use office tool, and it’s also received a bunch of features specifically added for Android N and Android Apps on Chrome OS including Drag and Drop support, Quick Access shortcuts for creating new files and support for mouse input when you install the app on your compatible Chromebook.
For 20c, this is an absolute bargain. Definitely grab it if you haven’t got a license already.
Google Play Game Deal of the Week
This week Google Play is offering FRAMED, a self-described noir-puzzle game which appears to be a pretty decent time game from the amount of awards the game has picked up.
It’s an odd game from the description, described as ‘a fusion of all-new game mechanics & fiendish puzzles’ the actual mechanic appears to have you re-arranging the panels of a comic to direct the story. The comic appears to be very well illustrated and the animation can’t be faulted with the general genre. The music too has been specifically orchestrated with the genre in mind with ‘live jazz performances fused with modern themes and beats’.
If you’re still not sure, the game is from Noodlecake Studios who have released an absolute bunch of high-quality gams so it’s probably worth at least 20c. If you have 20c to spare this week, head over to Google Play and give it a shot.
Dan’s Deal of the Week
It’s an oldie but a goodie this week: Riptide GP2 which has been reduced from $2.79 down to FREE!!!
Race jetskis through futuristic water based courses rendered with OpenGL 3.1 performing tricks and taking out opponents. It looks and plays great with a funky soundtrack to boot. The game can be played on your Android phone or tablet, but you can also install it on Android TV and get into it with a controller as well.
It does have In-App Purchases so be warned, they cost between $1.99 – $99.99 per item but it’s fun without the IAP anyway.
Anyway, it’s free for a while, but grab it now before the sale ends.
Thanks for heads-up Daniel. Not sure I would use OfficePro since I have MS Office 365 but for two bob its no loss. Especially when it was earned free via google rewards app 🙂
