Overnight, Oppo has officially unveiled their latest entry in their F-series with the Oppo F5.

The Oppo F5 is the first Oppo phone to feature a beautiful 6″ 18:9 aspect ratio display, though we may be seeing more of that on their R-series phones in a few short weeks. As well as the 6″ display Oppo is spruiking their camera technology which includes Artificial Intelligence that supports face unlock and a beauty mode.

The 16MP f/1.8 aperture rear camera uses AI to map more than 200 spots on your face to accentuate the symmetry between features such as your eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline creating what they call a ‘perfectly refined and natural selfie’. It will also make your eyes ‘shine brighter’ with a beauty-iris tool. A 20MP f/2.0 front camera sensor will also do portrait mode with automatic background blurring.

As for the other specs, the Oppo F5 is powered by an Octa-Core Mediatek Helios P23 processor with a choice of either 4GB/32GB or 6GB/64GB memory depending on region, with a microSD card slot included on both. The 4GB/32GB model comes in either Gold or Black colouring while the 6GB/64GB model comes in a very hot red colour option.

The phone is running Android 7.1 with Color OS 3.2 inlaid over the top,
