Last year Bose announced the SoundSport Free, their true wireless earbuds, alongside the QC35II with very little fanfare. It has been a long wait but they are finally available here in Australia.
Yesterday Bose announced that the SoundSport Free are now available to purchase in Australia and New Zealand at Bose Australia, Bose New Zealand and authorised Bose dealers.
The SoundSport Free are Bose’s first foray into the true wireless earbud phenomenom and are designed to provide high performance while maintaining a compact size with wireless stability. Each earbud weighs only 10gm and houses a new antennae system from Bose which is meant to maintain strong connection not just to each other but to the device to which they are connected.
The SoundSport Free is the closest thing to what people have always wanted in a sport headphone. They’re a technology-packed solution that’s stripped down to just two rugged earbuds that feel great, stay connected, stay in, and sound amazing.Brian Maguire, director, Bose on-the-go products
The SoundSport Free earbuds pack a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which promises to deliver up to five hours of clear, high quality sound. The earbuds have Bose’s StayHear+ Sport wing tips to create a secure yet comfortable fit — if the fit is anything like their other Bluetooth earphones we have tested I have no doubt this will ring true. The earbuds are IPX4 rated for water and sweat resistance so they should continue to work no matter the sheen you workup during your workout.
They come packed in a carry case which holds each earbud in place magnetically and can charge the earbuds twice each, giving an extra 10 hours of battery life.
The Bose SoundSport Free come in Triple Black, Blue/Citron and Orange/Blue colours and can be purchased for a RRP of AU$299.95 and NZ$349.95 from the retailers mentioned above. We hope to have a review pair on deck soon and will share our thoughts on them with you then.
