Music fans will be keen to tune in to the Coachella Art and Music Festival which takes place this weekend in California, with YouTube live-streaming the event, this year in the new VR-180 format. They’ve also launched a new Coachella app for Google Home.

Coachella runs over 3 days from the 13th to 15th of April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California and is present, at least in part by Optus. Headliners at the festival this year include Beyoncé, Jamiroquai, Vance Joy, Alan Walker, The Weeknd, ODESZA and many more.

This will be the eighth year in a row that YouTube has streamed the Coachella festival, but the first to be streamed in VR-180, the new Virtual Reality format that Google and YouTube introduced last year. VR-180 can be viewed on the desktop as a flat video, or through VR headset viewers including Google Cardboard, Daydream View and even Playstation VR.

To tune in to the Coachella YouTube stream, you can subscribe to it now on their channel, so you don’t miss a thing.

If you’re using Google Home, you can also tune in via the Coachella app for Google Home which will feed you information on the event including schedule information, and check out new artists or get information about the festival itself – including running a quiz:
