Have you heard enough about Blockchain? CryptoCurrency? Well, HTC thinks there’s a lot of interest in it, so much so they’re developing a blockchain friendly smartphone.

The phone, called the HTC Exodus, will be designed by Phil Chen, the man behind the HTC Vive and include a universal wallet with a built-in secure hardware enclave.

According to Chen, the functionality of a blockchain friendly phone would extend beyond cryptocurrencies, though it would support those, but it would also support decentralised applications (Dapps). A blockchain friendly phone could also enable ‘direct trading of the native cryptocurrency with peers on the phone’s network, without mining fees’ according to Tech Crunch.

Beyond the buzzwords of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, HTC has given a look at the phone:

Though no additional specs, pricing or even confirmation that the HTC Exodus would run Android, HTC has opened up a reservation form for those interested in a blockchain friendly phone.

Given the words decentralised and crypto buzzing around this announcement, I’ll simply close out with this

This idea is bad and HTC should feel bad.
