At an event in Shenzhen to show off some new phones (the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE) and their latest iteration of their Android OS: MIUI 10, Chinese electronics giant has also unveiled their latest fitness band, the Mi Band 3.
The Mi Band 3 comes in two variants, one with NFC which will sell for ¥199 Yuan (about $41AUD), or an NFC-less version for ¥169 (about $35AUD). The bands will be available in orange, black and blue and come with a 0.78″ 128×80 resolution touch sensitive OLED panel which can show things like fitness information including heart-rate from the built-in heart-rate sensor and other smart information such as notifications, caller ID and more.
The Mi Band 3 will come with a 110mAh battery which Xiaomi says will last up to 20 days and is waterproof up to 50 metres so you can definitely both shower and go swimming with it.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 will be released in China first, but you can bet it will only be a matter of time before it hits the third party sites.
Would the NFC version work with Google Pay in Australia?
Unfortunately i doubt it. It’d be good.
