We live in a connected world and everyone loves their smart home products. We are seeing more and more manufacturers move into the IoT market and today Kogan have announced their foray into the Smart Home market.
Today Kogan have announced their Kogan SmarterHome range which is designed to bring the most in-demand smart home products to Australian’s at an affordable price. As of today two smart heaters are available but the ranges is expected to be expanded to smart lights, plugs and portable air conditioners in the coming months.
The two smart heaters available for pre-order today are a 1500W panel heater for $99 (plus shipping) and a 2000W glass panel heater for $129 (plus shipping). Both heaters have built in Wi-Fi and are smart home (Wi-Fi) compatible. They include an adjustable digital thermostat with a 24 hour timer with automatic shut off. Both heaters include a remote control but all functions can also be controlled through an Android (or iOS) app.

The units will begin shipping on the 22nd of June, just in time for the coldest days of Winter. If you are interested head on over to the Kogan SmarterHome webpage and check them out.
Do they work natively with Google assistant?
The problem is that Kogan have a track record of terrible software and no updates or support softwarewise. My parents TV frequently crashes and has to reboot. Their phones were abandoned after release. I would think long and hard about not buying this if you want to use the smart features.
Very exciting news!
Is Kogan is crap…
