Google has their flashy Google IO each year but it has been a while since they have had their more focused Android Dev Summit. This year Google are bringing back the Android Dev Summit after a hiatus of a few years.
Google IO seems to have a lot of focus on new introductions and announcements for the future of Android, Chrome etc but the Android Dev Summit promises to be focused on developers and their current needs. In a Tweet from the Android Developers account Google have announced that the Android Developers Summit is coming to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View on the 7th and 8th of November.
Save the date! #androiddevsummit is coming to Mountain View, CA on November 7th-8th, 2018. Join us for 2 days of technical sessions from & networking with the Android team. Registration, session, and livestream details coming soon!

The Summit seems to be focused on developers’ current requirements with the Tweet mentioning the technical sessions and networking with the Android team. It seems unlikely that there will be any flashy keynote announcements but instead a more intimate setting for more close one on one interactions with the Android developers.
If you develop apps for Android you can check out the Android Dev Summit webpage for more information. At this point it is unclear if the event will be streamed on YouTube but we suspect it will be so if you can’t make it there you will be at least able to see the fireside chats and workshops.
