Google has today announced a neat new feature coming to the Gboard keyboard, with personalised emoji stickers you can share.
Minis are pretty much the same as the personalised sticker feature that Google launched in Allo last year.
The idea is pretty simple, you take a selfie and the Minis app will scan your face and output a custom sticker set of up to 100 stickers which you can then share in messaging apps. According to Engadget who seems to have been given the inside scoop, the set will take ‘into account various characteristics like your skin tone, hair color and style, eye color, face shape and facial hair’.
It looks pretty simple:

The update hasn’t appeared in my Gboard as yet, so it may still be rolling out. Make sure your Gboard is up to date in Google Play and let us know if you see it.
Just got an update to Gboard this morning on my Galaxy Tab and Pixel 2 XL taking both to version 7.5. In the Google Play app the WHAT’S NEW section for Gboard describes a new features is – Your Mini’s: Stickers based on you. But I have checked both devices sticker section with Gboard and Your Minis do not seem to be enabled yet. I force closed the Gboard apps and restarted with no luck. Anyone seeing the new stickers yet with Gboard version 7.5.?
my devices also have not the got new minis yet, im in the UK on Samsang Note 8
Just checked Gboard with Pixel 2 XL and Samsung Tab and both now have Minis enabled. Time for a bit of fun now. 🙂
Fairly sure I’ve had this for a couple of weeks. Was in the beta channel for gboard.
