After a thorough leaking of the larger Pixel 3 XL, the smaller, notchless Pixel 3 has finally broken cover. The phone, in all black, has shown up in a series of shots with a bunch of in the wild photos showing off the phone as well as some specs.
The shots have appeared over on image sharing site Imgur, via a reddit throwaway account called /u/Pixel3Throwaway, which understandably has very little post history but does answer some redditor questions.
The phone in the images is the black variant of the Pixel range, a nice change from the Clearly White variant we’ve seen on the larger Pixel 3 XL leaks. The phone has the same design as the Pixel 3 XL leaks, though without the large notch in the front display. The phone will have the same slightly re-positioned glass panel on the rear – though the whole rear is apparently glass, with the power button and volume rocker on the same side similar to previous Pixel phones.
The phone doesn’t appear to be running the stock Pixel launcher in the above screenshot, though does have the Pixel gesture ‘Pill’ in the screenshots taken of the specs. The hardware info app.
The specs confirmed in these pics show a 5.5″ 2160×1080 resolution 18:9 aspect ratio display, with a 2915mAh battery. The app also confirms the hardware specs of the dual front camera setup (both 8MP) with one sensor offering dual aperture f/1.8-f/2.2 while the other has fixed f/1.8, though the poster speculates the hardware specs app could be getting confused.
We already know the phone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB of RAM – further confirmed by the reddit post. So it appears we know pretty much all the hardware info about the Pixel 3 as well as the XL now.
There may be more incoming, so we’ll be keeping an eye on this reddit post throughout the day.

Yay, really looking forward to this. The 2XL is to big for me so I want to go back to a smaller phone. And this one looks great.
Like the look of this pixel 3, it’s like my pixel 2 xl…but a mini!
But hopefully with better scratch resistant glass.
This is more like it! I’ll miss my front fingerprint scanner from my Z Play but at least it has dual front speakers
You won’t regret having a rear fingerprint sensor. So convenient.
Then how can I use the phone without lift it first?
You can turn on facial recognition, or setup “locations” like at home that keep the phone in “unlocked” status
Facial recognition is no good where it lays on my desk at work for most of the day, same with rear fingerprint sensor. And I’d rather not leave it “unlocked” in that location either, for that matter, when I wander off from my desk to the printer or whatever :/
