After teasing the launch of the Mirage Solo standalone Daydream View headset, and VR180 compatible Mirage Camera in June, Lenovo has today made the devices available to purchase from Lenovo onlie or Harvey Norman (online) and in select stores.
Mirage Solo
The Lenovo Mirage Solo headset is priced at AUD$799 including GST & delivery and ships from the Lenovo Australia online store in 6-9 business days according to their site. Harvey Norman too is selling the Mirage Solo headset for $799 on their website with shipment in 4-10 business days with shipping an additional $5 to most places in Australia.
The headset comes with a super high resolution 5.5″ QHD LCD panel, and is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of storage with a microSD slot if you need more space. The headset has a USB-C port to charge the battery which will last about 7 hours.
Dual cameras on the front of the Mirage Solo give you access to Google’s WorldSense technology – 6-DOF or Six Degrees Of Freedom – which allows the headset to know its position in relative space without the need for external sensors.

The Mirage Camera is priced at $499 including GST & delivery and also ships in 6-9 business days from Lenovo Australia. Harvey Norman too is selling the Mirage camera for $499 on their website with shipment in 4-10 business days with shipping an additional $5 to most places in Australia.
The Mirage Camera supports Google’s VR180 format announced in June last year. The Mirage Camera allows you to capture, or stream VR pictures or video capturing a full 180° arc in front of the camera through dual fish-eye lenses in front of 13MP sensors on the front to the internal 16GB of storage included on the camera.
The Mirage Solo headset and Mirage Camera have received fairly well in the US where they went on-sale in May. We’re tracking down some review units and we’ll be keen to see how they handle in the home.
