Optus has quietly added another X series device to its prepaid line up with the Optus X Power mow available to buy for $129.
The X series have to date been re-badged versions of phones from well known manufacturers with the specs pointing to the ZTE Blade A6 Max underneath the Optus X Power branding. Though launched earlier this year globally, this is the first ZTE device to be launched here since ZTE began resuming business as normal over 2 months ago, after the company was forced to shut down non-essential parts of the business thanks to US bans being applied earlier this year.
So what is the Optus X Power packing, let’s have a look shall we:
- 5.5″ IPS HD 2.5D Display (1280 x 720 )
- 1GB RAM
- 1.1 GHz Quad Core
- 16GB Memory, expandable to 128GB via MicroSD
- Android 7.1
- 8MP Rear camera
- 5MP Front facing
- WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n
- Bluetooth v4.1
- Sensors: Proximity & Ambient Light, Accelerometer
- Battery: 4000 mAh
- Network connectivity:
- 3G: 900/2100MHz
- 4G: B1/B3/B7/B8/B28/B40
- Dimensions: 152 x 75.8 x 8.3mm @ 161.5g
The phone runs Android 7.1, but no screenshots of the phone in action are shared on the Optus website, so how much skinning is on the phone isn’t clear. It’s doubtful there will be many updates coming down the pipe for the phone, but stranger things have happened.
You could do a lot worse for the price and it has some compelling specs. As stated, the Optus X Power is available from Optus for $129 online through the Optus Prepaid site or through your local Optus store.
As a reminder though, the device is locked to the Optus network and unlocking fees do apply which you can find out more about this here.
