Google’s latest Chrome OS device, the Pixel Slate, announced last month at their latest hardware event is now one step closer to launch with a trip through the FCC…and it may be going on-sale in Australia via online electronics retailer Kogan.

As the tablet has already been announced and the specifications of the tablet are quite well known, there’s not a lot to glean from the FCC filing. The tablet, which is made by Chinese ODM Quanta has been filed under their manufacturer ID with the model # C1A.

The filing with the FCC is one of the last steps before a launch, meaning that the actual release can now be considered imminent. Previous release dates for the tablet have centred around the accidental ‘leak’ of a November 22nd date from US retailer Best Buy, combined with best guess thanks to incoming code for the Pixel Slate in future Chrome releases.

The FCC filing does include a handy User Manual, though it’s brief in content.

If that’s enough to whet your appetite for what’s promising to be quite a high-end Chrome OS powered tablet, it appears Australian Online retailer Kogan is contemplating selling the tablet on their website. The e-tailer is showing the tablet, and the rather nice folio keyboard case, listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on their website.

There’s no pricing listed, though with the base model (without the folio keyboard case and Pixelbook Stylus) priced at $599 you can expect that by the time Kogan add on some margin to account for any warranty issues it will be quite expensive.

We’re intrigued by the Pixel Slate, and if GOogle won’t bring it out here officially, you can bet we’ll be doing our darndest to get a hands-on with one and Kogan’s Direct Import offers are pretty decent offering local warranty for a small premium.

If you’re interested in the Pixel Slate, head over to Kogan and express your interest in the tablets by signing up for updates.
